Friendship
is a part of human nature. It is nearly impossible to live life without any friends, without any positive social interactions.
There is something that attracts you to that person whom you become friends with. Sometimes the attraction is due to similarities and sometimes it is due to differences. Such examples include his or her personality, fashion style, music preferences, culture, ethnicity, physical location, and so on. There are some people whom we become friends with because we wish to be more like them or to posses a quality which they have. In a sense, we have the desire to be like them.
I admit that sometimes I wish I could be more like one of my friends, but then I realize that everyone is unique and that is what makes us all individuals. There have been times which I have been jealous of a friend for having something that I did not have. But I would never go so far as to hurting them. I would reason with myself that I should be happy for my friend and share their joy. Gene on the other hand, blamed Finny and mentally accused him for his shortcomings.
